China's Expanding Influence: Redefining Global Dynamics and Implications for Africa

China is a friendly country that has always been willing to support Mozambique in both good and bad times. As a result, this Chinese act comes as no surprise to us. "This sister country has consistently supported Mozambique." Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Mozambique

It is now very difficult to pick an American publication that skips over the increasing power of China in the world, it is something happening at a fast rate and it appears the United States of America is panicking over this new reality, but this influence seeks to have more roots in the African continent, from the year 2000 Chinese lending in Africa has rose from nothing to 700 billion dollars, a very astonishing amount.

The Chinese president Xi Jinping has openly stated his desire to fulfill the China dream, which has a vision of being realized by the year 2049. This vision is particularly problematic since it is currently unfolding in a way that does not delight everyone in Africa today. China owns most of the cobalt mines in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and they are deplorable sites with child labor, appalling working conditions, and systematic evictions of communities dwelling in its concessions.

The communist country now has more than 10 000 businesses in  Africa and more than I million people that live in Africa, this shows that it has seen something from the imperialism legacy struck continent, at times the worlds then turns to Zambia argue and debate the new imperialism of China but an in depth analysis leaves thorough evidence of poor regulation within the Chinese debt written country revealing that Asian country owns 69 percent of the construction industry, it also reveals the country’s continued  trend of its ignorance of labor rights investing more money and taking advantage on the country’s  poor economic state.

The Chinese appear to understand the power of media and diplomacy, as evidenced by their South African relationship; they have heavily invested in their media networks CGTN and Xinhua to project a positive image in the global world, displaying the country's perspective on the world's political and economic models. It appears that the Chinese are on a clear mission to position themselves as a lucrative friend in the global area, seeking to replace the USA.

To see how there is a contest between the two countries, the United States of America is slowly building alliances with China's neighbors, and most United States journalists are writing with passion to embrace the idea of it declining after reports about the Chinese economy not improving within the past two years. Joe Biden makes statements on Chinas as a ‘ticking bomb’, but what could be the real war on these two countries? It appears to be a battle of who controls the globe, upon Observing at what is happening right now in in Africa due to its debt crisis, I concluded China it isn't anything as it says.

But how can Africa pick between the two countries? Does it have to take this action? According to the Institute of Economic Affairs, it should learn to govern and assess its debt to foreign countries. Kenya's gross public debt increased from 44.4 percent of GDP at the end of 2010 to an estimated 79% of GDP at the end of 2021. Chinese loans account for roughly 64% of Kenya's current stock of bilateral external debt, and on the other side is a country that provides very important aid to Africa to address issues such as poverty, health, and climate change.

Mozambique considers China to be a friend, despite its approximately $2 billion, according to data, the funding was mainly for the construction of roads and bridges, the state-of-the-art suspension bridge over Maputo Bay highlighting the money spent by the government of Mozambique, China, upon agreement between the two countries cancelled a debt of 30 million yuan, which is about five million US dollars, Angola has had a 40-year diplomatic relationship with China and a debt of 17 billion which is currently in the process of being renegotiated.

Africa has endured a violent heritage of colonial conquest that has rendered it in a state of re-definition on who it genuinely is and who  its true friends are on the international landscape; thus it is entirely appropriate to investigate the countries that assert to be its allies given that there's is a single thing the past truly teaches us is that it all begin with trade followed by exploitation, which is the path that the Democratic Republic of Congo is heading in at the moment; the leaders of Africa should fully assess the implications of  the loans it keeps on taking from China our latest friend.
